Grace Adato, Independent SEO Consultant

I'm an independent SEO expert for CMOs, marketing directors, and small in-house teams who need someone to make the SEO calls and then do the work, without a bloated retainer or a templated roadmap.

I'm most useful at one thing: looking at a messy site and telling you which few problems matter now and which ones can wait.

My first SEO job was at Bruce Clay, an agency started in 1996 by the man known as the Father of SEO and often credited with coining the term. That's where I learned what an ethical SEO consultant does, and more importantly, what they don't do. The agency has its own code of web ethics, and the lesson stuck: tactics that trick search engines work until they don't, and then you pay for it. So I don't sell shortcuts, and I won't recommend anything that puts your rankings at risk in the name of innovation.

My Approach to SEO

Technical SEO has been ingrained in my work since the very beginning, because it was easier for me to grasp at the time. I saw it as the foundation of a house, with URLs and site architecture as the floor plan, content as the rooms, and tracking as the utilities.

Today most of my work is helping lean teams decide where to focus: consolidating a bloated site, turning a scattered blog into topic clusters, or building an analytics pipeline with numbers people trust.

SEO drawn as a house. The foundation is technical SEO: crawling and indexing. The floor plan is site structure: navigation, internal links and URLs. The rooms are content: pages, blog posts and guides. The front door is conversion: forms and calls to action. A yard sign shows home value, which is authority: links and mentions. The utility pole is analytics: tracking and reporting. Shrubs out front are curb appeal, which is search appearance: titles, descriptions and rich results. A toolbox is maintenance, which is ongoing optimization: audits, updates and fixes.

How I Work

One roadmap, tied to business outcomes. Bloated sites and scattered content get consolidated into a single plan, and every item on it traces back to a goal your leadership already tracks.

Metrics that mean something. If a number on the dashboard doesn't change what we do next, it doesn't make the report.

No subcontracting. I scope it and I do it. Your work never gets handed to a cheaper subcontractor to protect someone else's margin.

My SEO Tool Stack

I work in Ahrefs, Semrush, and SE Ranking, and I'll use whatever your team already pays for. You won't need new subscriptions.
